Brett is a Managing Director and Wealth Consultant, responsible for growing the firm’s presence in the Mid-Atlantic markets.
Brett has 30 years of experience in the Wealth Advisory and Investment Management industry working on complex financial and wealth management strategies designed specifically to help simplify the lives of ultra-affluent individuals and families, business owners, families of multigenerational wealth, and corporate executives.
After earning his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Texas in Austin, Brett began his financial services career in which he served in several regional and national leadership roles at Northern Trust’s Wealth Management Group. Most recently, Brett was a Senior Vice President and Regional Executive directly responsible for building their private wealth business in the Mid-Atlantic States.
Brett has a deep understanding of the financial challenges impacting wealthy families today when experiencing a major liquidity event, working through family/business succession plans, executing on multi-generational wealth transfer strategies, navigating retirement decisions for corporate executive, and helping invest his client’s wealth to meet their unique preferences, goals & objectives for their lifetime and future generations. At Waldron, Brett specializes in providing sophisticated financial and investment planning advice as well as for building long-term relationships with clients.
Brett joined Waldron to pursue his entrepreneurial instincts and be able to bring a unique wealth management approach of integrating an “independent” investment management service into the complex financial, tax, and family lives of his clientele. Brett prioritizes the importance of full transparency and educating his clients so they can make a well-informed decision, knowing the financial services industry has been traditionally opaque to most investors.
Brett believes community engagement is a priority. He serves as Trustee, Audit Committee Chair and Executive Committee member for Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens in DC and served as Advisory Board member, Finance Chair and Executive Committee member of the Virginia Funders Network (“VFN”), a statewide association of more than 100 philanthropic organizations. Over a career of giving back, Brett has actively served on nonprofit boards and in leadership positions on the Sarasota County Arts Council, Human Advisory Services Council, The Out-of-Door College Preparatory Academy and the Church of the Palms.
Brett is an avid outdoorsman enjoying snow skiing, hiking, golfing, running, cycling and sailing. He thoroughly enjoys traveling abroad with his family and friends.
